Snead

M. Christine Snead, PhD, 2005

Dr. Snead is currently a Quantell contract epidemiologist/medical sociologist for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Division of Reproductive Health, Women’s Health and Fertility Branch, where she serves as a project officer for collaborative reproductive health studies at both Johns Hopkins University and UAB.  She has been the recipient of the 2006 Turlington Award for dedication and unselfish contribution to a local nonprofit agency. For the past 6 years she has served as a volunteer director of public affairs for a women’s health organization in Alabama and Mississippi. Her areas of special interest include International Health, Women’s Health, and Reproductive Health.  She has been a recipient of the National Institutes of Health Contraceptive and Infertility Research-LRP (through the office of scholarship) and an IPA (Inter-Personnel Agreement) from the CDC for her research.  She has published in The Journal of Health and Social Behavior, Research in the Sociology of Health Care, and Contemporary Sociology.
