Liddon

Nicole Liddon, PhD, 2000

Dr. Liddon served as an Association of Teachers of Preventive Medicine (ATPM) Post Doctoral Fellow in STD Prevention with a focus on U.S. adolescents and sexual risk.  In 2002 she began full-time work at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the Division of STD Prevention. She has published on the acceptability of STD vaccines among U.S. parents and collaborated with national and international immunization and cancer researchers to understand provider attitudes toward recommending HPV vaccines. She has addressed the U.S. Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), about pediatrician attitudes toward HPV vaccine and the possibility of changes in sexual behavior as a result of vaccination. Dr. Liddon also worked on an intervention in adolescent clinics in New Orleans prior to Hurricane Katrina. Since Hurricane Katrina, she has focused on post-Katrina relief and reconstruction work, conducting both qualitative and quantitative interviews of men who travel to New Orleans for work.
