Michael Howell-Moroney, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor
Michael Howell-Moroney is Assistant Professor of Government at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Howell-Moroney received his B.S. in political science from Northern Arizona University (1994), an M.B.A. in Urban Economic Development from Eastern College (1998) and a Ph.D. in Urban Affairs and Public Policy from the University of Delaware (2002).
His research focuses on smart growth, sprawl, urban inequality and collective action in metropolitan contexts. He has published or forthcoming research in Social Science Quarterly, The Journal of Urban Affairs, Urban Studies, Environment and Planning C, and Public Administration Quarterly.
Dr. Howell-Moroney teaches courses in Urban Policy and Administration, Local Government Planning, Research Design, Statistics, and Public Economics.
