The UAB Social Work Alumni Association was organized in 2004 under the leadership of Lisa Higginbotham & Margie Gilbert.  The Association sponors a Brown Bag Luncheon Seminar featuring local social workers and is coordinated under the Social Work Program's Continuing Education Series.  New graduates (within 1 year of graduating) join for $15.

The Dr. Norman Eggleston Scholarship Fund

in the Social Work Program

The Social Work Advisory Committee in conjunction with the Social Work Alumni Association is establishing a scholarship in memory of Dr. Norman Eggleston.  Dr. Eggleston was the founder and director of the Social Work Program at UAB for many years.  Dr. Eggleston’s teaching style, essential humility, and dedication to social work had a profound impact on his students and helped shape many of the professionals in our social work community.
