Lori Cormier's research focus is in historical ecology, which explores the symbolic, social, and material interrelationships of cultures and their environments over time. Research, Teaching, and Service concentrations include Lowland South America (Amazonia), Alabama Choctaw, ethnoprimatology, hunter-gatherers, gender, and medical anthropology
